How to Control:

  1. Dig out. Generally not recommended as roots resprout unless all fragments removed. Use only on small plants and where herbicides cannot be used.
  2. Cut stump application: cut low and treat stumps with (200ml glyphosate/1L water).
  3. Spray (best in Nov & Dec) with (125ml glyphosate + 20ml penetrant/10L water) or (100ml Tordon Gold/10L water).

Physical removal largely ineffective as root fragments sucker where broken. Cut stems can resprout. Recovers well after fire. Reseeds in bared areas after spraying. Remove small infestations first. Avoid root disturbance if possible when controlling. Check all treated sites for seedlings & suckers. Don’t replant for 2 years after all plants destroyed. Seed longevity usually low. Replant with dense cover & constantly check for new seedlings.

Caution: when using any herbicide or pesticide PLEASE READ THE LABEL THOROUGHLY to ensure that all instructions and safety requirements are followed.
